We had the privilege of collaborating on La Banquette — a contemporary bistrot located in the Marais, Paris. Our mission was to imagine and design the full brand identity: from logotype and typography, to illustration, printed collaterals, and merchandise. The goal was to build a visual universe that feels timelessly Parisian yet contemporary, and to translate the convivial spirit of the bistrot into every touchpoint.

The concept was anchored in the banquette as a cultural symbol: a place to sit, share, and gather — the “Q.G.” (headquarters) for a foodie community. This narrative shaped the entire identity, where bold typography, playful illustration, and a warm palette come together to create an approachable and characterful brand.

Our design choices extended beyond the logo to menus, coasters, business cards, and merchandising, ensuring a coherent guest experience at every interaction. The illustrations — hand-drawn icons of food, drinks, and the bench itself — gave personality and informality, balancing the strong typographic system.

The result is a cohesive brand ecosystem: a bistrot identity that is both familiar and fresh, deeply Parisian in its codes, yet contemporary in execution. Every object, from the wine list to the coaster under a Duralex glass, acts as a brand ambassador, making La Banquette memorable and distinctive.

BRANDING INSPIRATION

The La Banquette identity was built as a celebration of conviviality and everyday rituals.

Typography: Alternate Gothic provides a bold, urban rhythm, while Nickainley script and Brandon Grotesque add warmth and accessibility.

Illustration: A suite of simple, sketch-like drawings (bench, coffee, wine, dishes) that inject playfulness and humanity into the brand language.

Palette: Olive green, terracotta, beige, and off-white — inspired by Parisian bistrot interiors and Marais streets — forming a warm and instantly recognizable visual world.

Objects were conceived as functional carriers of the brand: menus, coasters, plates, tote bags, and business cards. Each item makes the brand tactile and lasting, extending the La Banquette experience beyond the meal.
