About the Name

Poincaré Studio takes its name from Henri Poincaré, the French mathematician and philosopher of science, who believed that true creativity arises from the meeting point of logic and intuition. This philosophy echoes how we approach our work.

In hospitality, every strong concept begins with structure: data, market research, behavioral analysis, spatial logic. But from that foundation, a second layer must emerge — one of narrative, emotion, and imagination. At Poincaré, we operate in that intersection. We build with reason, then elevate with poetry.

The name also holds visual meaning. Point suggests the circle — a symbol of intuition, creativity, and the feminine. Caré evokes the square — order, logic, and the masculine. Our role is to hold both: to imagine ideas that are not only original, but also grounded, feasible, and meaningful — for our clients and for ourselves.

Our process is a delicate dance between conscious and subconscious work. It can be summarised into four stages:

Preparation

The preparation stage marks the initial kickoff with the client, and the project. All the required information is gathered and research begins on the respective market(s).

The entire concept and idea is investigated within every context, and we accumulate all of our intellectual and creative resources that will be required. This stage is conscious work; it is part research, part planning, but it is also entering the right frame of mind to embody the work at hand and begin constructing new ideas.

Incubation

This stage can be best described as a period of subconscious processing; taking a step back to view the collected data and informations about the project from a larger perspective, providing the space for ideas to generate and marinate.

During this phase, there is an immense amount of creativity flowing and mental brainstorming taking place, introducing new possibilities, suggestions, concepts, and solutions.

Illumination

The illumination stage marks a eureka moment; all of the elements of the previous two stages have aligned and there is a flash of real insight into the work at hand.

The information has been gathered, the ideas have been formed, and now momentum is being built. Everything starts to take shape and a path starts getting developed towards the desired outcomes and results.

Verification

This stage is again conscious, whereby a deliberate effort is made towards testing the validity of the ideas set forth during the illumination stage. The ideas are weighed against their alternatives, analyzed and evaluated. This process refines the ideas into their best form, just like the process of polishing a diamond in order for it to shine with all its brilliance.
