We had the privilege of collaborating with Ángel León and his team on Despesques 2024 — a unique gathering of chefs, thinkers, and creators united by the sea. Our mission was to imagine and build the brand universe, scenography, and guest journey of the 2024 edition, ensuring every detail embodied the spirit of sustainability, gastronomy, and collective creativity.

The concept was anchored in eco-conscious design and storytelling: recycled materials (pallet wood, hay, canvas, recycled textiles, and biodegradable packaging) were transformed into scenographic structures, furniture, and branded objects. From the main stage built with logistic wood panels, to flags along the lake, to custom-designed OS&E such as reusable bottles, bamboo toothbrushes, tote bags, and recycled leather bracelets with QR code to see the programming, every touchpoint reinforced the narrative of regeneration and respect for nature.

Our vision was not only to craft a coherent visual identity but to shape the atmosphere of Wakana, Cádiz, into a living brand experience: a place where gastronomy met music, dialogue, and ritual. The result was a complete experiential ecosystem: a scenography that invited discovery, a visual identity rooted in patterns and palettes inspired by the sea and its resources, and a series of branded elements that turned sustainability into a tangible and memorable guest experience.

BRANDING INSPIRATION

The Despesques brand identity was built as a celebration of connection, flow, and sustainability. The monogram “D” — formed by interconnected organic modules — became the visual cornerstone, symbolizing both a fish scale and a molecular bond, a nod to the event’s dual roots in gastronomy and ecology.

The palette blended deep navy, seaweed green, terracotta, sand beige, and sunlit yellow, capturing the natural tones of Cádiz while maintaining bold graphic clarity. These colors animated a wide range of modular patterns, applied across flags, textiles, packaging, and signage, creating instant visual coherence in both physical and digital touchpoints.

Objects were conceived as functional brand ambassadors: recycled-paper coffee cups, refillable water bottles, bamboo toothbrushes, tote bags, textiles, and incense kits — each designed to live beyond the event, extending the Despesques experience into the participants’ daily lives.

In every detail, the brand expressed its ethos of circularity: what was built, printed, or fabricated was either recycled, recyclable, or re-usable. A narrative where hospitality and responsibility merged into one visual universe.
